Aim: How to determine the most appropriate topic for your project?

Do Now: Individually, make a list of the subjects, themes, or any interesting topic you have encountered during your last reading. Also add the topics you would like to read about and write about to the list.

  2. Brainstorm more topics if  you cannot decide using the handout given.
  3. Suggestions from the teacher-

bulletIt grabs the audiences' eyes and should be encompassing (broad not too narrow).

Homework:

Create a plan in which you need to include the topic of the project and the writings and readings you are intending to do for the topic. Start going to the library and visiting the literature site to select the works to read for the 2nd marking period. Remember you imput will help your group select the reading materials. The earlier you decide, the more faster your group will progress.

**You need to read at least three pieces of literature for passing your second marking period. You can choose any genre to read but do make sure to select a long piece (a novel, biography or autobiography or play) to read to develop your topic. You can read as many poems and short stories as you want.

Lesson 10

Aim: What ideas in the ThinkQuest Library can we learn and use them in creating our own project?

Do Now: Click on ThinkQuest Library and visit a few sites created by other students. Jot down three ideas you have learned from the visited sites. The ideas could be about how the ideas are organized, the creative ways ideas are presented or art design, etc.

Procedure:

  1.  Share the ideas in the group.
  2. Discuss how you would like to present your topic using the web site.
  3. Draw a diagram of how the topic will be developed and how ideas will be organized.

Homework:

Each member of the group takes one major piece from the diagram and develop it further by adding the literature you could read, the writing you can do, the research you can do, and even the web design ideas.

Lesson 13

Aim: How will you present your information using the elements of good web page design?

Do Now: Visit ThinkQuest Library and visit at least two websites under the category of Literature and Books. Jot down the ideas the websites have inspired and the ones that you'd like to share with your group concerning the web design related to the contents of your project.
